New commemorative 5 rupee coin – On 150th Birth anniversary of Motilal Nehru



The Reserve Bank of India will soon issue “New Five Rupee Coin to 150th birth anniversary of Motilal Nehru (Mumbai Mint)” 

Coin Information as follows:

Denomination : 5 Rupee

Shape & Outside Diameter: Circular 23 mm

Number of separation : 100

Metal Composition : Nickel Brass


Copper – 75%
Zinc – 20%
Nickel – 5%

Obverse :

The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the centre with the legend ';सत्यमेव जयते '; inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word ';भारत'; in Devnagri script and on the right periphery flanked with the word ';INDIA'; in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol ';`'; and denominational value ';5'; in International Numerals below the Lion Capitol.
 
Reverse : 

The face of the coin shall bear the picture of ';Motilal Nehru'; in the centre, with inscription ';मोतीलाल नेहरू की 150वी जयंती'; in Devnagri script on the upper periphery and ';150th BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF MOTILAL NEHRU'; in English on the lower periphery. The year ';2012'; shall be inscribed below the picture of Motilal Nehru.

What is Numismatics?

Collection of coins, Bank Notes, Minting error coins, old coins etc., above are called Numismatics.

Why Collect Coins:

There are “N” number of reasons why you might have collect a coins. Every collector will have unique reasons; most of the people collect coins in the hope that they will get more money in future from investment. Other than investment its hobby, get better idea about history, you can learn about other country etc.,

Investment:

It’s really an investment if you start collecting rare coins, common coins are not greatly appreciated its not good investment choice, on daily basis coin collectors increasing in numbers but rare coins? So everybody will keep an eye on old and rare coins. But it’s a long term investment. You cannot expect income in overnight. It’s a billion dollar industry world wide.
So collecting coins is an Investment not an expense!
